The Most Famous Wallpaper Designs Ever

Wallpaper is practical, acceptable artistry that has been used to make a statement in houses before the development of the wallpaper roll.

There are countless types, designs, textures and prints to choose from, and a wallpaper specialist can determine the most beautiful design for a given space that suits the user’s aims and ambitions.

However, whilst there are thousands of wallpaper designs to choose from, there are some that have developed a reputation and fame all of their own.

      Brazilliance

Created by Dorothy Draper, a legend in the world of interior design, Brazilliance, the famous banana leaf print has been used in several iconic hotels specifically as a bright antidote to safer neutral designs.

Mrs Draper was famous for her “anti-minimalism” style that embraced bright colours, dramatic prints and a zest for design, teaming them with oversized details that stands firmly at odds with more reserved styles.

Citrus Garden

Initially based on an archival print by Josef Frank in 1947, Schumacher’s Citrus Garden is just bright enough to not be overwhelming, just light enough to not be dull, and absolutely teeming with life and joy to it but without being overly floral and thus getting caught in different trends.

It feels completely timeless and is a design that could suit nearly any type of wall, from a bright children’s bedroom to a contemplative library or study.

Les Touches

Animal print often has a place and a time to it, but the modern art approach that Les Touches embodies defies this by being at once organic and abstract, being strong enough a design to be used as an accent wall (especially in alternative colourways), but also subtle enough to not make a room too busy.

Given that it was released at the height of psychedelia, it is understated and naturally textured, giving it an almost universal appeal.
