When choosing the interior design for your bedroom, you not only have to consider what colours and styles you like but also what décor will help you have the most restful night’s sleep.
When it comes to picking wallpaper installation in London, it is wise to avoid the colour red.
Interior architect Phoenix Grey told his TikTok followers that it exudes high energy, which may make it difficult to switch off and relax.
“Inflammatory emotions activate the mind for a colour like this that you can’t really be comfortable, relax and fall asleep,” he stated.
Mr Grey also recommended opting for a moodier tone of green, as opposed to a lighter shade. This will give bedrooms a “much cosier look”.
Another colour that should be avoided is a bright yellow, as this is also highly energising and, while being great to wake up to in the morning, it could make it difficult to fall asleep at night.
Violet is a good choice for bedrooms, however, as it is known to encourage relaxation.
Colour therapist Valerie Logan-Clarke told Country Living: “It is the colour which soothes the nervous system and aids restful sleep, gives a feeling of peace and helps us connect with our inner calm – often depleted after a busy and / or stressful day.”
Blue is also a calming colour, and there are plenty of shades to choose between, from deep navy to fresh sky blue.
